Every QR code is generated in your browser and works forever — no subscription, no tracking, no limits.

How to use QR Code Generator

  • Select content type — Choose URL, text, email, phone, Wi-Fi, or vCard depending on what you want your QR code to contain.
  • Enter your content — Type or paste the URL, text, or other data for the QR code.
  • Customize appearance — Adjust size, color, error correction level, and optionally add a logo or icon in the center.
  • Download your QR code — Save as PNG or SVG. SVG is recommended for print materials as it scales without losing quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the QR codes expire?

Static QR codes generated by UtilHub never expire. Because the data (like your website URL or Wi-Fi password) is encoded directly into the black and white squares, they will work forever. Only "dynamic" QR codes (which route through a tracking server) can expire if the service shuts down or a subscription ends.

What is the maximum amount of data a QR code can hold?

A standard QR code can hold up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 7,089 numbers. However, the more data you add, the denser and more complex the pixel pattern becomes, making it harder for older phone cameras to scan. For best reliability, keep URLs under 100 characters (use a URL shortener if needed) and Wi-Fi passwords concise.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

The three most common reasons are: 1) Contrast is too low — ensure there is high contrast between the dark foreground and light background (never use dark red on black). 2) The code is too dense — you tried to pack too much text into it. 3) Improper sizing — for print materials, the minimum size should be 2×2 cm (0.8×0.8 inches) for close-up scanning, and larger for posters or billboards (rule of thumb: 10:1 ratio of distance to size).
